Buried 'neath recesses so clandestine;
Like a torch beaconing the fiery battlefield of war,
Blazing undiminished against the sleet and shine.

Unrequited love,
That inflicted upon the innocent its excruciating mark;
The blade that it used to pierce,
Drew blood fresher than the fangs of a vehement shark.

Acute agony,
The notes of sorrow that lingered after the crusade;
Resonating in voidness like an angel's cries of demise,
Never to wane, never to fade.

Those honeyed words and loving caress,
Ravishing glances of passion that spellbound her eyes;
All but an incredible plot of finesse,
Conceived to bewilder by the uncanny devil in disguise.

You didn't know how much it hurt,
That nothing can erase her excruciating pain;
All that she can say now are these extreme words:
Never will she believe in love, again......
